of Art!”
A Short, Short Story of Lissi “Lu” Rabon and LuLoops!
Hi, I’m Lissi. I
was born in Virginia, lived in Florida, South Carolina and now,
Wilmington, North Carolina.
The Southern
coast has been my life, my love and my inspiration. In my early
twenties, I discovered my passion in lampwork, a centuries old
technique for shaping molten glass, and was inspired to create
my own jewelry line.
I believe in the
power of color. Even before making jewelry, I have always
relied on color to brighten my day and the lives of others.
Working with a
torch and Italian Moretti glass rods, each bead I create in my
Wilmington studio is a coastal inspired color wonder. Once I
design the bead, I add a splash of gemstones, freshwater pearls ,
Swarovski crystals, glass seed beads, shells, sterling silver
chains and toggles to accent my little works of art. Then, I
think of a special name for each piece.
The colors, the
energy, the feel and attitude all combine to make what I call my
incredible, loveable, one-of-a-kind jewelry … LuLoops!
LuLoops! have
spread all over creation ... they’re featured in Southern Living
and other coastal publications. They’re a hit with celebrities
and they even have a huge Swedish fan base.
I host studio
open houses, have house parties all over the country, take
orders from my website and Facebook pages and LuLoops! are
featured in boutiques.
So, if you’re
thinking about LuLoops! for yourself, a friend or a loved one,
just know that no matter where you go, your LuLoops! will make
you sparkle, shine and light up a room! And, my biggest fans
tell me that they’re addictive (in a really great way) and that
compliments are guaranteed!
